Our video is black and white themed. This idea has been adapted from many recent successful music videos we have seen such as Music Video of the Year ''Single Ladies'' by Beyonce.

Her album cover is also in black and white which shows how she has used this theme throughout the year so that all the songs on her album are linked by their themed video.

This makes her songs more recogniseable to the public as this theme brands her music.

Original ideas

Nadelle - name in lights came from a website where you can project your name in lights so we are going to put the clip of the flashing lights over 'Nadelle' then put a clip over the top of Nadia walking past.

Research into target audience

Our target audience is primarily the younger generation, teenagers are the main listeners of Pop/R&B music which is a large market as teenagers have the most disposable income. Hugely successful artists like Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus have a largely profitable career because their Pop music has given them a starting point for a massive franchise across the globe.

From networking sites like Facebook we can learn how the majority of fans for artists like Beyonce are teenagers, they use the internet and media software daily and download songs from available sites like Itunez.

Our music video will be aimed at the same target audiences as these artists as their videos have influenced us. As teenagers we know what appeals to our age group which will give us the insight to making a music video for this age range. The band that we have chosen is an all girl band so we can look at similar bands to give us an idea at how these artists are marketed.

Research into Album Covers

This album cover shows all the band mates posing from a side angle, full length so you can see their tiny figures. The name of the band is shown clearly at the top with the acronym of the title next to it. The cover uses a black background with the lead singer wearing a black top to match, the other colours worn by the girls are then used for the band name at the top of the cover. The girls are all wearing provocative outfits and showing their confidence while wearing noticeable make up to show their femininity also.

This album cover is in black and white which is fitting with her theme as her music videos are also in black and white. The cover is a medium close up of the artist posing pulling her hair back so her whole face is shown. Its a sensual pose which is typical of Beyonce as she always dresses provocatively in her videos and has a certain image. This cover may seem quite plain but it is striking to its audience as the artist is the main focus, there is no background to take any focus off Beyonce so you immediately just see her face.

PITCH

For our music video we have decided to construct a performance based black and white video. We shall use our solo artist 'Nadelle' as a focus and the main aspect of the video will be the artist dancing and lip-syncing. This is typical within the conventions of our chosen genre. We will use glamorous clothing and make up to create the image of a pop star and accentuate her beauty. Our music video will be set primarily in a studio environment because the song is about taking someone's photograph so we want to use a suitable setting. We will also shoot some footage outside for variation and to make use of the natural lighting. We will have a choreographed dance routine to fit the song and this will be fast paced and in the style of hiphop/street dancing which you would expect in a video like this. We plan to use a Porsche in some scenes to encourage the idea that Nadelle is a famous, rich and lives a pop star lifestyle.
